In an article in the Daily Telegraph on Monday they set out details of an award list publish by Management Today in which senior industry figures rank their peers.
The Top 10 companies were:
- Quality of Management
- The Company's Performance
- The Quality of its Goods and Services
- Financial Soundness
For sure as we head towards the end of the year there will be many other such awards but nevertheless, there are some interesting details to be drawn from the survey.
Firstly, Tesco who have been number 1 for six of the years since the list was started in 1994 are now languishing at a position of 181.
Secondly, whilst not in the top ten, at 37 Aldi is the top ranked retailer in the food and personal care sector.
Next have risen by 30 places from 2013.
John Lewis is now in 5th place. Remember the groups turnover overtook rivals Marks & Spencer last year.
And finally, creeping in at No.10 is McDonalds - Surprise surprise.
